There is one drawback to using FTP and TELNET, the basic protocol is both widely understood and unencrypted. This means that all network traffic to and from Programmer Studio can be intercepted and reconstructed.
Within a secured network environment (LAN or corporate WAN) this should not prove to be an issue. However, using Programmer Studio to access a server via the Internet should be considered carefully. In such situations, we recommend using a VPN (Virtual Private Network) connection.
